dublinbikes launch a huge success

The launch of dublinbikes was a tremendous success on the streets of the capital city as Councillor Andrew Montague, representing the Office of the Lord Mayor officially declared Ireland’s first bike share rental scheme open.
Over 200 members of Dublin City Council and JCDecaux staff, family and friends wearing the navy and sky blue of Dublin city cycled together from the Civic Offices along the bank of Dublin’s river Liffey after Councillor Montague cut the ribbon to launch dublinbikes.
It didn’t take long for the public to get in on the act, with subscriptions soaring into the thousands as both Dubliners and tourists gave dublinbikes a massive thumbs up. Throughout the city, people could be seen enjoying their db as they cycled at leisure in the beautiful sunshine.
