Coca-Cola Zero dublinbikes performs well in 2016 and looking forward to 15 new stations in summer 2017

(13/02/2017)

Coca-Cola Zero dublinbikes had another very strong year in 2016 with over 4.3m journeys taken over the course of the year. The scheme now has more than 68,000 annual subscribers and it had its busiest day ever on 16th September with 18,041 journeys taken.

Launched in 2009 the iconic bikes have become part of the fabric of Dublin city with Dubliners and visitors to the city regularly using them to enjoy all the capital has to offer.  Coca-Cola Zero dublinbikes has proven itself to be an efficient, healthy and fun way to get around.  There have now been more than 18 million journeys since launch making it one of the most successful bike share systems in the world.

Currently the network consists of 101 bike stations and 1,500 bikes. The reach of the scheme is set to grow further in summer 2017 with an expansion in the city that will include the Grangegorman catchment area, adding 15 stations to the network and an additional 100 bikes.

To help facilitate this expansion Dublin City Council have revised the annual membership charge for the Coca-Cola Zero dublinbikes scheme.  This change will apply to subscription renewals and new membership from 15th February 2017. A Long Term membership (one year) will increase from €20 to €25 from then.

Please keep an eye on www.dublinbikes.ie for further news about the expansion.
